
Since 2014, I have held research, teaching, and executive roles at the University of Tehran. I began my academic career at the Center for International Scientific Studies and Collaboration (2014–2017), where I contributed to international academic engagement and institutional communications while leading the strategic development of the University’s digital presence and international outreach. I subsequently joined the Cyberspace Research Policy Center (2017–2024), an interdisciplinary research center specializing in cyberspace governance, digital policy, cybersecurity, and Internet literacy. As a researcher and Executive Deputy, I led multiple research and policy initiatives, oversaw daily operations, strategic coordination, academic programs, and engagement with governmental bodies, international organizations, and academic partners. My work produced technical reports, policy briefings, peer-reviewed publications, and international conference presentations, and helped inform policy recommendations. I remain affiliated with the Center as a non-resident fellow. Concurrently, I taught as a Teaching Assistant (2014–2020) and sessional lecturer (2018–2023) at the Faculties of World Studies and Social Sciences. I also managed communication and editorial initiatives, including oversight of the Faculty of World Studies Newsletter (2016–2018) and the Iranian Studies Prospectus. Over these years, I organized more than 10 international conferences and seminars, 20 workshops, and 50 lectures, and designed and delivered training programs on science communication, peer review, and research dissemination for faculty and postgraduate students. Since 2017, I have served on the Executive Committee of the UNESCO Chair on Cyberspace and Culture (UCCC) at the University of Tehran. The Chair advances interdisciplinary research and education in cyberspace studies, digital culture, and media and information literacy, while supporting curriculum development and scholarly collaboration across the Faculties of World Studies and Social Sciences. In this role, I have led academic events, research initiatives, and scholarly publications while serving as the principal liaison with partner organizations and stakeholders. Since 2018, I have chaired the annual Media and Information Literacy Seminars co-organized by the University of Tehran in collaboration with the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO. I also served as Associate Editor of the UCCC’s academic journal (published by University of Tehran Press) and directed the Chair’s internship program, mentoring eleven interns across three cohorts.

The European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI) brings together international scholars, universities, and policymakers engaged in academic integrity and responsible research practices. I joined ENAI’s Academic Integrity Surveys Working Group in 2021 and have served as its Head since 2022. The working group centers on developing and maintaining academic integrity surveys and monitoring tools. In this role, I focus on monitoring and developing survey instruments and evidence-based tools to support institutional integrity assessment and policy development.

I serve on the Webinar Subcommittee of the American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL), operating under the Committee for Online Education and Outreach. My involvement centers on developing high-quality online scholarly programs and professional engagement initiatives in applied linguistics.

I joined the Ethics Committee of the Linguistic Society of America (LSA) in 2017 and served as its Co-Chair between 2022 and 2025. The Committee maintains the Society’s Ethics Statement and contributes to broader professional and ethical policy development. During my tenure, the Committee revised the LSA Ethics Statement (2018–2019) and organized multiple scholarly and professional initiatives, including a series of workshops on peer review and the Organized Session “The Ethics of Peer Review in Linguistics” at the 2024 LSA Annual Meeting. My work within the Society has primarily centered on professional ethics, responsible research practices, and equity issues. In addition, I served as a reviewer for the LSA Annual Meetings, participated in the Ad Hoc Workgroup on Demographic Data in Linguistics (2019–2022), and served on the selection committee for the Excellence in Community Linguistics Award.

I founded the International Association of Communication in Healthcare (IACH) within the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The Association fosters interdisciplinary scholarship and dialogue on healthcare communication, patient-centered care, empathy, and compassionate clinical practice. As Executive Director, I have built academic collaborations and initiatives examining the role of communication in healthcare quality, professional practice, and patient experience. I have advocated for policies that improve care quality and rehabilitation, particularly for patients affected by cancer and spinal cord injury.

UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week, held annually from October 24 to 31, is a flagship international event dedicated to advancing media literacy, digital citizenship, and information integrity. As a member of the International Organizing Committee in 2020 and 2022, I contributed to theme selection, program development, international coordination, and outreach activities. Since 2018, I have chaired the annual Media and Information Literacy Seminars at the University of Tehran, organized in collaboration with UNESCO and the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO to mark this global observance.

The International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE) is a professional association serving the scholarly publishing and journal management community. I contributed to professional development and engagement activities through the Asia Pacific Advisory Council and the Webinar Committee.

Peer Review Week is an international initiative dedicated to promoting the value of peer review in maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of research. As a member of the Steering Committee, I helped coordinate global activities focused on peer review literacy, research integrity, and scholarly communication.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is a leading international index of peer-reviewed open-access journals. I served as Associate Editor for DOAJ, evaluating and indexing journals in English and Persian while upholding editorial quality standards and supporting open-access publishing.

De Gruyter Open (now part of De Gruyter Brill) is a major international open-access academic publisher. As Associate Editor, I managed peer review processes, provided editorial oversight, and commissioned linguistics manuscripts for open-access publication while upholding rigorous scholarly standards and editorial integrity.

The Web of Science Academy supports researchers worldwide in navigating academic publishing, peer review, and research integrity. Through mentoring, I contribute to peer-reviewer training and initiatives that strengthen responsible review practices and enhance publication quality.

Figshare is an open-access repository platform for the preservation and dissemination of diverse research outputs, including datasets, figures, media, and supplementary materials. As Figshare Ambassador, I advance open science through advocacy, outreach, and training focused on data transparency, research visibility, and scholarly communication.

Mendeley, developed by Elsevier, is a widely used reference management and academic collaboration platform that supports citation management and research organization. As a Mendeley Advisor, I contribute to outreach and advocacy initiatives promoting effective research management and scholarly workflows. I deliver training on reference management and academic productivity. I also participate in platform feedback and beta-testing of new tools and features.

The Center for Open Science (COS) is a non-profit technology organization dedicated to advancing transparency, reproducibility, and openness in scholarly research. As a COS Ambassador, I promoted open research practices through advocacy, scholarly outreach, and community engagement.

Arash Plastic Ltd. is a manufacturer of plastic fruit crates operating in the national market. In this role, I developed strategic plans for production expansion and market development, implemented operational policies, and drove data-informed decision-making to guide business strategy and operations.

Titan Incorporated was an international business consulting firm headquartered in Kuala Lumpur that I founded in 2010. The firm specialized in strategic planning, human resources, information technology, and sustainability consulting for small and medium-sized enterprises. As CEO, I provided strategic leadership, expanded the consulting portfolio, and grew the international client base until 2015.

I served on the Advisory Board of the Foundation for Endangered Languages, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the documentation, preservation, and promotion of endangered languages.

I founded and led two mountaineering clubs that developed into a vibrant international community of outdoor enthusiasts. In 2006, I established the Titan Mountaineering Club in Tehran, and in 2008, I founded the APU Mountain Climbing Club in Kuala Lumpur. The two clubs later merged operations and grew to more than 800 members from over 50 countries. We organized a wide range of activities, including hiking and trail climbing, technical mountaineering training, expeditions, introductory climbing programs, and first-aid workshops.
